Road Safety Week

EchoMaster takes part in Road Safety Week 2021

Today marks the first day of Road Safety Week, the week dedicated across the UK to highlighting the measures we can take to improve road safety. The UK’s biggest annual road safety campaign, Road Safety Week inspires thousands of schools, organisations and communities to take action on road safety and shout out for our right to make safe and healthy journeys every day. This year marks the first year that EchoMaster are partnered with BRAKE, the road safety charity and organisers of the Road Safety Week event.

This year’s event is dedicated to celebrating the heroic work of road safety professionals and explaining how we can all play a part in making journeys safer for everyone. Every 20 minutes someone is killed or seriously injured on a British road resulting in an average of 1850 deaths a year or the equivalent of five deaths per day. The total figure of serious injuries in road incidents is frighteningly in excess of 25,000 or the equivalent of 70 serious injuries per day. Every road death and serious injury is preventable, and BRAKE are dedicated to reducing this number to zero.

To raise awareness this week here at EchoMaster we will be holding a ‘SafeTea Day’ where we will be offering tea and cakes to staff and discussing the importance of road safety and show how they can ensure their safety when out on the roads, particularly as the nights draw in early in the coming winter months. We are also going to be holding a special ‘SafeTee day’ where members of staff will wear their brightest and most colourful clothing to show how important it is for them to be seen when out on the roads.

We’ll have more information on how our Road Safety Week campaign is going later in the week, to get involved yourself download an action pack by visiting: brake.org.uk/road-safety-week/take-part
